The Optimal Health Physicians Team integrates extraordinary medical expertise with nutritional and traditional approaches to well being, recognizing each person's individuality and honoring the integrity of body, mind and spirit.  Every member of the Optimal Team seeks to work in partnership with patients who to take responsibility for their health and well being.

Norton Fishman, MD, FACP, CNS - Internal Medicine
Dr. Fishman has been practicing medicine for over 40 years. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois Medical School and was trained in Internal Medicine at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.  Dr. Fishman is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. Having served in the US Air Force, he spent more than 25 years in private practice in Chicago prior to coming to the Washington area. 

After spending many years in private practice as well as providing medical care in the nursing home settings, Dr. Fishman developed a passion for understanding and treating chronic illnesses and a keen interest in understanding successful aging.  These interests led him to further studies in the areas of Functional, Integrative and Nutritional Medicine; as well as Anti-Aging/Longevity Medicine.  His is a Certified Nutritional Specialist and a Diplomat in Anti-Aging/Longevity Medicine.  He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American College for the Advancement of Medicine.

Dr. Fishman is a recognized expert and speaker in the fields of Integrative Medicine, Nutrition and Anti-Aging Medicine within the community and among his professional colleagues having been an invited speaker at the National Institutes of Health, local hospitals and organizations, the University of Virginia Medical School, and the University of Illinois Medical School.

Dr. Fishman is dedicated to healing and wellness, which means applying the leading-edge medical science and technology to his practice as well as remaining open to offering the best of the supportive traditional healing arts to his patients.
   He maintains active involvement in training medical students as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Gladys Chi, 
BSN, RN, MS, CRNP-F - Family Nurse Practitioner

Gladys received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with Magna Cum Laude honors from Queens University of Charlotte, N.C. and worked as an RN for five years prior to receiving her Master of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.  Her experiences span women’s health, service in an Indian Health Service Clinic in Montana, and multiple nursing travel assignments across the country.  Just prior to returning to the Rockville area, she was a member of a Family Practice Clinic in Berkeley, CA where one of her responsibilities was chronic disease management.

Andrea S. Kohn
, 
BSN, RN, MS, CRNP-A - Adult Nurse Practitioner

Andrea's 23-year nursing career began with her bachelors studies at The Catholic University of America in Washington, and has extended to her MS and certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner graduate on the University of Maryland in 2007.  She has held hospital charge nurse positions, hospital staff and case management supervision, research administration, pharmacy services, patient home care care advocacy and medical office based patient care.

Elizabeth Adair Marsh, BSN, RN, MS, CRNP-A - Adult Nurse Practitioner

Adair joined OHP following completion of her Nurse Practitiner taining at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.  Her clnical interests have always included the integrated approach to adlt and geriatric medicine.  In the office she not only sees a full schedule of patients, but also plays a major role in building OHP's reference knowledge base on the assesment and treatment of patients with polymicrobial infections acquired from tick bites.

Eileen Van Grack
, RN - Director, Clinical Services

Eileen received her nursing training at Montgomery College in the late 1970's and spent the succeeding 26 years providing care to internal medicine and oncology patients; 22 of those years in the same practice.  During her career, she has provided nursing and administrative support across the entire range of RN functions for patients coping with the most serious and challenging forms of illness.  Eileen also is a higlhy skilled practitioner of Therapeutic Touch, a healing modality many patients find helpful in relieving stress and and enhancing relaxation.

Patricia Nwanze, RMA - Laboratory & Infusion Therapy

Pat joined OHP directly out of training as a Medical Technician and worked in all reception and administrative support areas prior to taking on her clinical role in laboratory testing and infusion therapy.

understands that she or he plays a critical part in managing the myriad administrative, document management, scheduling, technical and communications processes essential to supporting productive and meaningful patient-provider relationships.
