Sultana Jahan Afrooz, DO – Family Practice Dr. Afrooz has practiced osteopathic medicine since receiving her doctorate from Des Moines University – Osteopathic Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa in 2002. Her training included an osteopathic internship and family practice residency at the Frankford Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Afrooz is Board Certified in Family Practice, successfully completed the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners NBOME Part I, II, III Boards & State Osteopathic Licensing Examination, is a diplomate of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine in both Maryland and Pennsylvania.
Dr. Afrooz brings to her practice of medicine a history of excellence in her training and education, a driving intellectual curiosity, and life-long commitment to learning. During her undergraduate years (George Washington University; B.S. in biology with a minor in English), Dr. Afrooz was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and was recognized for her volunteer service in the burn unit of the Children’s National Hospital in Washington DC.
Prior to opening her own private practice, Dr. Afrooz has served as house physician in the departments of medicine at both Springfield Hospital (Springfield, P A) and Delaware County Memorial Hospital (Drexel Hill, PA), a critical care physician in the department of medicine of Roxbourough Memorial Hospital (Philadelphia, P A), and as an attending physician for Genesis Health Services.
As a member of Optimal Health Physicians, Dr. Afrooz is able to apply her extensive knowledge of medicine, nutrition and osteopathy in an integrative approach to diagnosing and treating the highly complex challenges confronting many of OHP’s patients, and in providing all patients with the in-depth, compassionate and individual care they deserve.
Eileen Van Grack, RN - Director, Clinical Services Eileen received her nursing training at Montgomery College in the late 1970's and spent the succeeding 26 years providing care to internal medicine and oncology patients; 22 of those years in the same practice. During her career, she has provided nursing and administrative support across the entire range of RN functions for patients coping with the most serious and challenging forms of illness. Eileen also is a highly skilled practitioner of Therapeutic Touch, a healing modality many patients find helpful in relieving stress and and enhancing relaxation.
Darby Novak, MA – Laboratory & IV Services Darby began her career in health care more than 25 years ago as an MA in an oncology practice in Gaithersburg, MD. Her extensive experiences since then span internal medicine and family practice, ob/gyn, cardiology, dermatology, pediatrics, and nuclear cardiology. Along the way, Darby has managed medical offices and their labs, and helped start up new practices.
